Redneck Red Carpet Recap

The Emmys were last night folks, and even though I couldn't watch the actual show 'cause I would rather poke a stick in my eye than see the ultra annoying Jimmy Kimmel, I did check out the stars arriving on the red carpet. My award for the most grounded, least entitled, and enthusiastic of all invitees goes to the child actors of Stranger Things. Wow, they were most impressive in their interview. Now on to the fun shall we.
Tracee Ellis Ross is a vision in white.
I see how Mandy Moore started to peel the layers of her dress away like an orange.
Jil Soloway channeling her best David Arquette.
She dropped 'em red in this number!
DANG let's hope Kristen Bell didn't get Lost in the Garden of Eden.
Leave it to Kerry Washington to make pregnancy look stylish and sleek.
There should be lemon laws against this.
So sad that Sarah Paulson had to wear pond scum. But, she did win the Emmy for prosecuting that scum OJ Simpson so it ain't all bad.
Sarah Hyland looks like a live version of a cocktail table.
If I wore this, I would be pissed too!

  1. That last one made me laugh!
I didn't watch it because football was on.
Saw the kids from Stranger Things on the Tonight Show and they were just awesome.

    1. Football was more entertaining. The Stranger Things kids are really great. Plus they looked better than most people there.

  2. Leave it to some Hollywood types to bring crazy up a to a new level...and that new level will be topped at the next big ego-boosting award show.

This year seemed to be full of dresses with geometric holes in them. Some of those were attractive but some of of them just looked choppy. (or crappy, take your pick)

    1. I agree! You really need to have confidence to pull off those geometric holes.

  3. The stranger things kids are great indeed, hopefully Hollywood doesn't ruin them like say Culkin.

Moore looks totally pissed off. Not as much as the last though lol

    1. Oh I hope Hollyweird doesn't ruin these kids. Orange you glad you didn't have to wear something like poor Mandy Moore?

  4. Oh wow - your comments complete these so perfectly. I wonder how much money Sarah paid for that pond scum.

    1. Isn't that just hideous? I swear the guys who drain our retention pond could have hooked her up for free.

  5. Thanks for updating me with what I missed. I was almost happy to learn there were more attempted bombings while eating my Cheerios this morning as it kept me from having to hear more of the candidates or about the Emmys in the few minutes I had to catch up on the news.

  6. I don't even know who most of those people are.

    1. I don't even know a few of them myself, but they are redneck fashion police worthy.

  7. I just don't know what Mandy Moore was thinking, such a pretty lass, such ugliness of a mustard jar.... I did lurv Kristen Bell's outfit, reminds me of Ellie Saab or Zuhair Murad. Sarah Paulson isn't someone who can pull off such a cleavage, nobody wants to see that..... That first white gown was lovely, although I've no idea who that lady is :) Did you see that one lady, I don't know her name, her dress looked like a giant pimple and she had the ugliest of legs exploding underneath it... I nearly puked...

    1. The lady wearing the white gown is Tracee Ellis Ross, who stars on Blackish. She's also the daughter of the beautiful and famous Diana Ross. OMG I think the giant pimple dress belonged to someone I didn't know either and your description is perfect. I so wish you and I could critique a red carpet together. We would have a blast!

  8. I don't know who at least half of these people are. Is this what being old and out of touch feels like?

    (Love your commentary, though)

    1. I'm way old and out of touch because I just know the old fart stars. Mostly I just look for the ugly dresses and google their names. LOL

  9. Here today and gone tomorrow. Who are they?

  10. The first photo with the kids. That one. That one's the best.

Some of the others made me laugh. Or sigh. Or laugh and then sigh.

  11. I cant believe that you don't like Jimmy Kimmel. ...and I was going to vote for him for president. Hahaha

  12. The color of Mandy Moore's dress: inspired by Donald Trump.
As far as Jil Soloway, what the hell IS that?

  13. I think I like Priyanka Chopra the best, well I'm Indian so could I be any less biased;)?

But, Sarah (from Modern Family- looks weird. She is cute otherwise)

  14. Kristen Bell is just always my favorite everything. I don't know why, but I just adore her! Sadly, I didn't know who many of the other people were!

  15. Stranger things! I love that show. It's mind-blowing to me some of the things people call "fashionable," or how they try for shock factor. Seriously people, just try to look good, eh?
