Bucket List Complete

I have returned from the Big Apple, thawed out from freezing my ass off, dug out from mountains of laundry, and finally have a spare moment to post a few pics from my trip. You may remember that I told y'all that attending the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was the #1 item on my bucket list. Well, it was everything I hoped it would be, and I even had the big O a few times over some of my favorite balloons. As an aside, my 13 year old and I actually got kicked out of a taxi 'cause we were standing on the wrong side of the street tryin' to go downtown and the cab was goin' uptown. Yep, the cabbie told me "you need to cross the street lady" and he opened the door and threw our asses out. How 'bout them apples???? I think it takes serious talent to get thrown outta a NYC cab and I'm proud to be one of the select few.
View from our hotel.
Statute of Liberty dude we stiffed 'cause we didn't have 5 bucks cash to pay him for the privilege of the pic.
Hip Hop ice dancer at Rockefeller center. My kids are in the foreground.
Macy's store front window.
Me up in lights.
Snoopy being blown up.
Spiderman
Start of the parade.
Santa's elves.
My $20 Broadway wine tumbler.
Bucket list complete!!!!

  1. Looks like you all had one heck of a good time there. Everything in your photos look so big, apart from the statue of liberty. It seems to have shrunk a bit, ha ha ha.
What's next on your bucket list?

    1. I already saw Kenny G's Christmas concert a few years ago and went zip lining. Despite what many may say, I'm not high maintenance. My bucket list is now complete!

    1. The Book of Mormon was hands down the best Broadway show I have ever seen!!! However, you have to have a warped sense of humor and be able to appreciate the "f bomb".

  5. I was thinking about you on Thursday, hoping you were having a good time. Looks like you had a marvelous time! While I'm not jealous of the parade going, I am a touch jealous about the Broadway show. Love those!
    Great photos!

  8. You've done everything on your list?
If I ever go to NYC, I'll have to remember that about the cabs. I had no idea.

    1. Yep, list was very small. Seeing Kenny G's Christmas concert, zip lining, and seeing the parade. Check, check, and CHECK!!!! I can now die a happy, satisfied woman!

The cab thing was a hoot. As one of my friends said, it was a bonus for my bucket list!

  11. Wonderful photos. What an amazing trip! I can only imagine how spectacular it is to be there to witness this. And I love that last photo of you. A little excited, are we? Haha... And you even got kicked out of a NYC cab. I don't know anyone who's ever experienced that. Your trip was a complete success :)

  12. YAY! Congratulations on finishing your bucket list. You should get extra credit points for getting kicked out of the cab, too. I'm glad you caught Richard Simmons in the parade.

  14. Woohoo! Congratulations! Also, I guess "turn around" isn't in the cabbie's vocabulary, eh? Too much work?

  15. So glad you had a great time! And yeah, if you're not on the side of the street that flows with traffic, they won't drive you. There is no such thing as "turn around" in Manhattan. It would take longer to circle the block that to cross the street :)

  16. That is fantastic! You probably knew...there was some question whether the winds would be too strong for the balloons. Luckily, it wasn't and, as you know, the balloons went up. My daughter marched in two of Philadelphia's Thanksgiving parades. Froze our asses off, but it was worth it. Plus, nobody was shot, so that was a plus.

  17. Those NY cabbies are scary. (both in personality and driving skills) God forbid that he would have to make a turn.

But what a lucky girl you are to have been in the city for the parade. It looks like great fun.
